Doug from Block Party Entertainment (Now Doug Stanley Productions) was very friendly and easy to work with. His presence as a DJ is not overbearing or cheezy in any way. His online database of music allowed us to pick out every song and let him know when it should be played. My fiance and I spent hours picking out our music, which ended up being good and bad. Good because we were able to fine tune what we wanted, but bad because Doug ended up taking requests from the guests and not playing all of the music we had spent hours picking out. A few songs that were played as requests we absolutely hated, which should have been apparent based on the songs that we picked out from his database.Another thing was that we requested certain songs for dinner. Out of the numerous (probably around 30) songs we requested, about 3 or 4 were from the same artist. Instead of playing maybe one or two songs from this artist interspersed through dinner, he played all 4 songs we requested from this artist back-to-back, and didn't play many of the other songs we had chosen. I mean I love Fleet Foxes, but 4 Fleet Foxes songs in a row? I could have just played my cd for dinner. Also, we had requested a money dance, which he forgot about.Overall, Doug's responsiveness, professionalism, value for cost and flexiblitly put him above and beyond our standards. However we felt that he should have catered more to what we requested, and brought more variety from our selections to the table.

Block Party Entertainment and Doug Stanley ROCKS! We were looking for a professional, talented DJ minus arrogant attitude. We finally found him! This is all Doug does for a living and he is a one man show. We spoke to many others who have a 2 person show, we thought that would be better for us - but we never missed the second person.Doug helped us with all our music planning and was our MC for the day. He had to set up a small system for our ceremony - which was outside, and set up his main system for the reception. He never missed a beat, was there with plenty of set up time. Showed up to our rehearsal (many won't do that!) and made certain everything worked properly.Doug is a special DJ and we had special needs. It was very important to me that my father could hear the ceremony and the toasts. My dad has a Cochlear implant to assist him in hearing - and a few other technical devises. My request of the DJ was to ensure this would be possible. Most looked at me like I was crazy! Doug said, get me more information, haven't heard of what you're asking and I'll look around and see what I can do. I had an email in about 1 hour saying - no problem. I'm going to buy some hardware and make this happen. He did! My dad heard the ceremony and the toasts!Priceless!
