Gray Gables Estate

Gray Gables is the best place for a wedding. Genevieve is the best coordinator anyone could ask for. It seems a bit expensive at first but when you go look at other venues and realize everything else you will have to add and/or do yourself it is generally the same or less to go with Gray Gables and you have a stress free wedding which is priceless. I enjoyed my daughters wedding and didn't have to lift a finger. I recommend this venue highly! Thank you GG for giving my daughter and her husband the wedding of their dreams.

I can't say enough for how pleased we were with our wedding at Gray Gables Estate! Everything went exactly as we had hoped and the venue was absolutely gorgeous. Barb was our consultant and she was absolutely wonderful! She went above and beyond to help us think through each detail of our wedding, met with us on various occasions so we could see the venue and show it off to out of town guests prior to the wedding. It was so great to have her as a day-of consultant as well. She was integral to ensuring that our wedding went off without and hitch and she did so quite brilliantly! Our wedding would not have been as much of a success without her. She helped make us feel incredibly special on our big day.The venue is absolutely perfect for weddings because it has the wonderful outdoor ambiance (complete with awesome twinkly lights) as well as a great reception hall. The cake even has its own designated bay window! I would do my wedding here again in a heartbeat.

Loved the look of the location. Beautiful indoors and out. I was turned off by staff and the cost of the food. They require you use their food vendor. The food was not that great for the cost. When I would call, only once did I get my person live on the phone. I would have to leave a message and get a call back a day or more later for simple questions.

Our wedding went great with Gray Gables Estate. Genevieve was so great to work with. I never knew what having a wedding coordinator really meant. I figured oh they are there to make sure we are booking vendors and details in time. On the day of our wedding I finally figure it out.....Genevieve meant we didn't worry about one thing that happened that day, she made sure everything went off and around the time it should. We didn't think about when are we doing the cake, or toasting or any of that stuff. It just happened and left us to enjoy our day and have fun. We had about 100 people at our wedding and I felt like that was such a perfect size there, not too crowded outside in the ceremony or even inside for the reception.

Can you imagine in the process of wedding planning and the stresses it brings, having your wedding venue burn down 2 weeks before your wedding and come to the realization the venue owners were lying and cheating you the entire time? That is what happened to us. We were planning on having our wedding at the View Point Inn. Two and half weeks before our wedding we heard news of the venue catching fire. The destruction was devastating beyond immediate repair. We then found out that the owners let their fire insurance lapse and had to file for bankruptcy. They had no remorse for the soon-to-be brides and did nothing to help out the new situation. We thought our storybook wedding would never happen. After putting 8 months into preparing and planning we watched as all our hard work seemed to burn to the ground. When we thought we had nowhere to turn Gray Gables made our dream wedding come true. We met with Barb who is a coordinator at the venue and told her our story. Within the same day she worked with us and did all she could to reconstruct our vision. Barb and the Gray Gables team went above and beyond to map out a menu, coordinate the fine details such as decorations, and any other dreams we had. She did such an amazing job coordinating and had a calm demeanor I felt unexpectedly relaxed despite our circumstances. She worked with the colors we had already picked out (Tiffany Blue…which they have perfect new Tiffany Blue napkins), helped with our menu (the food was astounding and complimented by our guests), and accommodated for any decoration ideas. She worked with our financial budget and sympathized with our situation. Gray Gables proved to be an honest wedding venue. Integrity is evident and they can be completely trusted with one of the most important days of your life. Our story started with a tragedy and deception and ended with a happily ever after thanks to Barbara, Gray Gables Estate, and everyone on their team.

My husband and I got married at Gray Gables on February 19, 2011. I am extremely happy with our choice to get married there, and had a wedding that was truly more wonderful then I could have ever hoped for. Our cordinator Genevieve was absolutly wonderful. I know she has planned dozens weddings (if not hundreds), but never once did I feel like I was just a number, or like anything was more important to her then our special day. We had several meetings before the wedding and found that we could be as involved or uninvolved in the planning as we wanted. The day of the wedding all my bridesmaids kept asking why I wasn't more stressed out about everything, and it's because I knew I was being taken care of so well by Genevieve and the rest of the staff. My mother, mother in-law and bridal party were so happy that they did not need to worry about setting up the venue, or staying late to clean up (Gray Gables takes care of that!), so they were able to be relaxed as well. I could go on and on about how everything from the food to the decorations were perfect, but what I really liked was how Genevieve paid attention to little details (my favorite color is pink, so whenever she would get me a drink at the wedding it had pink straws). I really cannot say enough nice things about this venue, All of my friends were prepairing me for something to go wrong, saying those were the most special moments. I am so happy to say that not 1 thing went wrong at our wedding, so my memories of the wedding are completely perfect!

My wedding was Feb. 17 2011, it was the greatest day of my life!!! It just so happened that around the same time I had booked my wedding I had recived a job promotion which made it to were I had little to no time to plan my wedding. Barbra at Grey Gables took 100% care of me, she was like my fairy god mother. If it wasnt for Barb and Grey Gables I am not sure what I would have done. All of the vendors that they recommend were amazing. Each one of them was a pleasure to work with. I would not have changed a thing about my special day it was PERFECT!! THANK YOU BARB!!!

If we would have been married anywhere else I doubt our wedding day would have been so relaxing and enjoyable for us. Gray Gables staff will guide and take care of you on your special day. They know what they're doing so you don't have to! My guests raved about the wonderful time they had. Our wedding pictures look like a fairytale because of the beautiful setting. At night there are thousands of twinkle lights and it becomes even more magical. I don't see how anybody could go wrong by getting married at Gray Gables.

I just got married two weeks ago at Gray Gables. Planning a wedding in Portland from where I live in Maryland was a daunting task at first. I actually didn't even see Gray Gables in person until after we had already booked there! But my mom and my sister went and saw it and knew that it was the perfect place for my wedding, and they were right! Genevieve, my wedding coordinator at Gray Gables, really helped make the entire process so smooth and low stress. There is no substitute for experience and they have it in spades! The venue is absolutely beautiful and all my guests had a great time. The food was wonderful and everything worked seamlessly. My only complaint was that when we fell behind schedule on the day of the event, they were pretty persistent about letting me know that we were behind, which is really the last thing a bride wants to hear! It did not allow me to enjoy myself as much as I would have otherwise. However, my husband solved the problem by paying for an extra half hour of time on the estate and then I was able to relax. I would definitely recommend Gray Gables, especially if you are planning a wedding from long distance. The help you receive from the staff will take a lot off your shoulders.

Gray Gables is a BEAUTIFUL venue for weddings of class, elegance and tradition. If you want that luxurious atmosphere with amazing service then this is the place to go! My coordinator at Gray Gables guided me with the best of her abilities and helped make the wedding planning a lot easier. The staff here has excellent customer service. You get what you pay for. The atmosphere is divine, the food is delicious and the service is fabulous. Their Open House events help introduce you to vendors who work with Gray Gables. It's a relief when venues and vendors can work together side by side to help make your day super special. Our wedding day was MORE than we could have ever imagined! Our coordinator was by our side the whole time. Everything was perfect! A little spendy, yes, however, every single penny was totally worth it once i saw my bride walk down that isle. We had our wedding in July 2010 at Gray Gables. The staff was very helpful and professional throughout the planning process. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We got so many compliments on how beautiful our wedding was, the grounds, the food, etc. The Gray Gables wedding planners did a wonderful job and made the wedding planning process stress free - and made for the perfect wedding day!

Gray Gables is a very beautiful place, but not worth the prive that you end up paying at the end. Before signing the contract the place sounded pretty reasonable. but after the contract has been signed they started charging for every little thing. And if they say you have a choice of colors, be ready to pay couple hundred extra for that. They promise a lot but there a lot of hidden fees. We went way over our budget and compare to other venues, it's very expensive for the value. They were very organized on the wedding day but constantly kept us in a rush through out the whole wedding day. We spent over $8000.00 for 5 hours just for the venue. Food wasn't enough even though we had 15 ppl not showed up and it wasn't that great.

We booked gray gables for our wedding almost a year before the date. From the beginning of the process our coordinator, Genevieve, had all the information we needed to plan out our wedding. She even had a calendar of when all the different things should be done by and booked by, which was very helpful. Each scheduled meeting helped keep us on track and stay on top of the things we needed to get done, which is especially helpful when you have a wedding that is almost a year away. Another great advantage of working with gray gables is their preferred vendor list. Everytime we would meet with vendors and tell them that we were getting married at gray gables their immediate response would be along the lines of "oh, ok no problem.". Many of the vendors around the Portland area have been working with gray gables for many years, which makes the coordination between the vendors and the facility a breeze. Genevieve was always very helpful and patient through out many decision changes, even up to a month before the wedding. They also have an open house in feburary for the coming summer events that showcases different vendors and also their catering choices. It was a fun event to get re-energized for the planning process. Gray gables takes care of so many things that it saves so much time, especially for busy people like us. They were one of the more expensive venues that we looked at, but it has been worth every penny because of how easy it has been to plan our wedding.

It is three months from my wedding date and I just have to say that this has been one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had! I get Calls from Barb, one of the wedding consultants, to help keep me on track! I have been told by so many that the engagement and planning the wedding will be so stressful and that I will be so happy when its over. I am honestly having a blast planning my wedding! They make everything so easy and its so organized! They seriously take care of everything!If you want your parents to have nothing to do but show up and enjoy your wedding and If you want to make sure that everything goes the way you want it, get married and Gray Gables Estate! Its beautiful, and so inviting! you will be so glad you decided on this place! They will make sure your every need is taken care of!Hope this helps you make a wonderful dicision!

Grey Gables was a wedding dream come true! With less than 3 months to plan a full scale wedding Grey Gables was there to help us at every turn. Contacting and suggesting vendors that have worked with them before to ensure a great flow of our evening. On our wedding day the staff was always present to help but never intrusive. They were there to keep you on track so you don't forget the cake cutting and bouquet toss. Never pushy but there with a gentle nudge in the right direction. One of my favorite parts of Gray Gables was the ability to watch my guests arrive without being seen! The bridal suite overlooks the entrance but is hidden by the trees so you wont be seen even if your guests look up. Seeing their faces as they took in all of the natural beauty and grandeur was priceless! Our day was one that not only my husband (it's so fun to say husband by the way) I will look back on fondly but our guests will as well!

The staff at Gray Gables were very attentive, professional, and accommodating. The venue was absolutely gorgeous! Our guests still rave about the place. Not to mention, the food was outstanding. Thank you, Gray Gables!
