Good tasting cake that looked great. My only complaint is that you can't do more online and through email with them.

The cake tasted good but the design was not exactly what i was looking for!

Our cake looked beautiful and exactly how we wanted it to look! We had a lot of fun going in and sampling cake and designing the cake with them. They are very meticulous in the way the take your order and obviously it worked out perfectly for us! We cannot wait to get our free cake on our 1st anniversary!

We chose this bakery because they were the best price for the best cake, there was no comparison. They will even be making us a small 1 year anniversary cake too. Their service was greatly appreciated when the consultant for the bakery took it upon herself to deliver our cake on our wedding day because they weren't running deliveries that far out of the city at the time of year our wedding was.

The wedding cake that Helen Bernhard Bakery made for us was absolutely delicious and beautiful! Our guests raved about the White Chocolate cake and we can't wait for our one year anniversary to try our cake again! They were also very reasonably priced--one of the best that I found around town.

Our cake was absolute perfection...beautifully executed, on time and no flaws. We probably could have enjoyed a bit more filling between the layers but other than that, wonderful!

Our wedding cake turned out just as we envisioned - absolutely cute as a button (and tasted incredible). The only thing that made me nervous was their 2-hour window for a deliver time which could cause issues if your venue has tight times but luckily ours was flexible and it all turned out just fine.

We tried many cakes and went with Helen Bernhard bakery for the quality cake they provided at good value. Our cake was exactly as ordered and delivered on time. They matched our color for the decoration. We had very simple decoration, enhanced by fresh flowers from our florist.While my husband and I didn't get to eat a piece of cake until the next day, our guests enjoyed the different cake flavors, and even non-frosting lovers liked the buttercream frosting.

My cake was exactly what I pictured. It was so beautiful and very delicious!!! The only this is I had an outdoor wedding on an 80 degree day and really did want my cake delivered earlier that 3pm and they delivered it about 2pm. But I would still highly recommend Helen Bernhard!!!!

I really like Helen Bernhard's. They did a beautiful job on our wedding cake. They were friendly and attentive when we came in for cake tasting and made sure that we had what we wanted. There was some confusion over the decorating which caused us to have to pay an addition $100 after the initial order. This was a little aggravating, but since we'd requested a more elaborate decoration, I guess it made sense. Their delivery was punctual, the cake was beautiful and more importantly, delicious. I think they are worth it for the cost, and definitely better than some other higher-end bakeries I've dealt with in Portland.

We went to Helen's because a few of our friends had gotten their wedding cakes there and we had tasted them and were great. the cake tasting went really well and they were willing to let us try what over we wanted. We brought in a picture of what we wanted with some notes on changes and they had no problem executing what we wanted. We had satin ribbon around the bottom of the tiers and were very helpful to ensure that we brought a sample in to test against the icing and make sure the shade of color it slightly turned would work. it did. One thing that a little disappointing was that they would not decorate the cake with real flowers like we wanted. Fortunately, the venue's coordinator was also a florist and was gracious enough to decorate the cake as we wanted. When we arrived at our venue, the cake was already delivered and look amazing. Thankfully our summer reception was inside and air conditioned. We chose Chocolate with chocolate french cream and white chocolate with strawberry filling (my fav) and having the different flavors were fantasic and all the guests commented on how yummy the cake was and that the icing was not too sweet. The price was less expensive than others. Our cake was what we wanted and we were very happy with Helen Bernhard's.

I loved this bakery! The cake was amazing and i had one less big worry with going to Helen Bernhards. They delievered my cake right on time and it was perfect!

The chocolate and raspberry filling were delicious. I also had an intersting shade of green that they were able to match perfectly!!!

My family has been going to Helen Bernhard's Bakery since way before I was born--so choosing a bakery was an easy choice. That being said--the cake was AMAZING! It looked beautiful and tasted even better. I will say that the cake tasting was good but didn't blow me away; however, the actual wedding cake tasted fantastic (and I'm not even a huge dessert person). It's such a great place-everyone was friendly and helpful (without being pushy). All of our guest commented on how delicious the cake was (and beautiful).

Our cake was great! while we only got to eat our bite we feed each other at the reception, that bite was amazing! My parents had used them for their wedding and when we went to order our cake we could see why. They had huge books filled with ideas, and they were very helpful with mixing and matching ideas from different cakes to help make out unique and beautiful.

Yum. Best cake, by far. Not only that, they were my Great-Aunt's favorite way back when she got married (in the 1940s or something)! The cake was lovely, the service was good (only one of the ladies on the phone was a bit grumpy, that is why I didn't give them top stars in Quality of Service) and after I ordered the cake and set up the drop-off date and time, that was the last I had to worry about it! Checking things off the list is a bride's favorite activity. They were great and the cake was yummy. Good pick!

Great cake! Can pretty much do anything you want! Any shape, color, size, you name it!

They have books and books full of beautiful cake designs, all with customizable options. Go in to the bakery for a taste test, you won't regret it. They make everything from scratch with fresh ingredients and you can REALLY TELL! I don't like cake, but I LOVED their cake. They will also make you a miniature version of your wedding cake for your 1-year anniversary for 10% of the cost of your wedding cake. I can't wait! I wish I had gotten a chance to eat more than one piece of the cake at the reception, it was amazing-melt in your mouth velvety goodness. And the prices: so reasonable and very straightforward!
