Rob and Diane are amazing people. They take the time to find out WHO you are as people and help guide you in deciding what kind of ceremony will best fit. They totally honor your requests for wording and were very flexible as we had to change the location at last minute. We are excited and honored to call them friends!

Rob and his wife Diane are not only great at what they do, but also happen to be some of the nicest people we've had the pleasure of working with. As any bride to be knows, planning a wedding can turn what is supposed to be the happiest time in your life into what seems like a never ending headache! After arriving to a locked church the night of our rehearsal with no church greeter to be found I thought I had reached my breaking point, and without Rob and Diane I probably would have. They took complete control and quickly turned the situation in to a positive, lightning the mood and helping us remember why we were there is the first place. We highly reccomend Rob to any bride/groom looking for a professional but friendly and personable officiant!! :)

Robert and his wife Diane were wonderful to work with. The moment we talked to Robert we knew that with his personality and what he believes in was what we wanted. non-denominational was perfect for us and our families. He created a great one of the kind ceremony for us after speaking with us and learning about us and what we wanted. It was possibly the easiest part of wedding planning, picking him and doing our vows and having our ceremony written up. You can't go wrong with him, he is one of the best. I could go on and on about why you should go with him and how great he is. Really you just need to meet with him and you'll know it.

Rob and Diane exude warmth, joy and understanding it was a pleasure. Our interfaith ceremony was just the way we hoped! No request went un-answered. He helped us feel at ease so that we could absorb and enjoy every moment of our marriage ceremony. Bonus: the children participating in the wedding loved him.

Rev. Rob Figley and wife were so wonderful, funny and so professional. They asked many questions and made our ceremony about us and what we wanted. What we loved the most is that they didnt judge us on what our beliefs are, but asked us what we wanted in our ceremony that would reflect our beliefs. They made everything so fun and exciting. We did the rehersal and they made it so professional and fun. They gave us to much infomation before and after the wedding. They made sure everything was completed and done for us after the wedding. They were so great. Rob and Diana were so great with us and our family.My family have sent us emails and talked to us on the phone about how wonderful they were and how beautiful our ceremony was. Rob was truly a professional and a delight to work with. He performed the wedding ceremony for a friend of mine and he did such a wonderful job with such humor and sincerity at hers that I HAD to have him officiate mine. We received a tailored, customized ceremony that fit us perfectly incorporating traditional aspects, The Princess Bride movie quotes, biblical references and old Celtic traditions. AND our officiant can double as a Santa! How cool is that?! Rev Figley was on time for all appointments and took care of all of the marriage license paperwork after signing. I HIGHLY recommend his services.

Perfect! Look no where else. He allowed us to do what we wanted and he added his own charm! Perfect in every way!!!

There is not space enough in this review to fully explain how bad this business is. In a nutshell, he could not perform services agreed to in email conversations because of misunderstandings on his part and bad business practices. Our grievances with Reverend Figley are simple. 1. He maintains that we told him a starting time of 4:30pm and could not perform the ceremony at 4:00pm due to a wedding he booked at 3:00pm. Yet, every written communication between us stated that our ceremony would be at 3:30pm or 4:00pm. 2. He refuses to refund monies paid, referencing a non-refundable clause in the contract. This contract also specifies a time of 4:00pm and was never signed by Reverend Figley, meaning it is not a valid contract that anyone can be held to the terms containted within it. Bottom line: There are many wedding officiants in the Portland area that will do a much better job for the same amount of money. Reverend Figley is quite simply a bad business man with awful business practices. As a tip from this experience, always ask an officiant how many weddings they will book per day. Most will not book a wedding within an hour of another, especially if the drive time from one venue to another is at least 30 minutes (as was the case here). Take your time and get to know your minister to be sure that they will make your day special and not potentially ruin it. Hopefully this review will save you some time so you can eliminate one bad candidate. In response to the vender's reply: Sadly, Robert's behavior as a business owner have not changed, even if his policy has. He refers to a wedding booked at 2:00pm. This was not the case. As with everything else in the review above, I have email correspondence with them where they say they booked another wedding at 3:00pm, just as I do emails where they agree to a start time for our wedding of 3:30pm or 4:00pm. The fact that Robert can look at the communications between us and feel that he is even slightly in the right is apalling. I would not trust him to be an officiant, Santa Claus, or any other business he wants to conduct and will advise anyone else against it as well.

From our initial contact (phone call) with Rev. Robert Figley we knew that we had made the right decision in choosing him for our wedding ceremony. This was reinforced when we met him in person for our consultation. His personalized attention to details and follow through on all aspects took a great deal of the stress off of us. Ours was a very intimate ceremony with just a few friends and family. Rev. Figley allowed us to be very informal and thus we were able to include our guests in our special occasion. His demeanor, attention to detail, professionalism and character helped make our ceremony a very memorable and joyous occasion. We were thoroughly delighted and surprised to receive, from Rev. Figley, a printed copy of the entire ceremony, readings, vows, etc. I have already had the pleasure of recommending Rev. Figley to a co-worker for his wedding ceremony.

Rev. Figley was awesome. The ceremony was beautiful and turned out perfect. We were not sure exactly what we wanted when we started planning but it was perfect and was written just for us. Rev. Figley was very easy to work with and has a great sense of humor which helped to ease some of the nerves we had at rehearsal and on the wedding day. No counseling sessions required which we found quite a few officiants wanted to do before they would do a ceremony. We would recommend Rev. Figley to anyone who is looking to get married and wants a great officiant, personalized ceremony and no hassles.

Rev. Figley was wonderful to work with! We wrote our own ceremony and he performed it just as we wanted. Plus, we hired him just 3 days before our wedding and he was very flexible about driving to our selected location. Thank you for making our elopement so special!

rev rob did very well by us. he gave us a copy of the ceremony before hand so we could look it over. he answered all my questions over email which was important because of a lack of time to spend on the phone during business hours. during the wedding he was friendly and seemed to speak honestly. i would defiantly recommend him to anyone who needs an officiant.

He was absolutely wonderful! He listened to our requests and performed the ceremony exactly how we wanted it.

My husband and I were married back in June, and we have nothing but fabulous things to say about Rev. Figley. He was very open to any of our ideas or requests, and has a very laid-back attitude. He really tried to incorporate our interests and who we were as a couple into our ceremony. He was also prompt! Responded to e-mails in a timely matter, showed up to rehearsal on time, and provided us with a copy of our ceremony and directions for filing our marriage license. Lastly, on top of it all-he is a ball of energy and added real charisma to our wedding. He would be a great Rev. for anyone still in search on an officiant.

If you are looking for someone who is caring, understanding, flexible and unique, Rev. Rob and his wife Rev. Diane should be the first people you call. Our wedding was a combination of traditional, modern, casual and most of we wanted it to a celebration of our special day, in our own way. Rev. Rob understood this from the start. They created a ceremony that was uniquely us and everyone loved it and them. I would highly recommend Rev. Rob Figley, he is the perfect touch to a perfect day.
