Sarah Seven Bridal

Short version: AWFUL communication, beautiful dress that fit well (complimented on wedding day and I loved that it wasn't a David's Bridal dress), very annoying experience, untimely delivery.Long version: I was so disappointed with my Sarah Seven experience. To start with, I was a bit apprehensive about making such a large purchase online, but I was lucky enough to be visiting Portland in time to be able to meet her, see her studio, and try on a dress. Like many, I fell in love with her beautiful designs. Since I only saw some negative feedback about her slow response time and not that she ripped anyone off, I decided to order (over 1 full year in advance of my wedding, just to be safe [ordered September 2010, got married November 2011]). She quoted a 3-6 month time frame.When I had a question here or there, getting a response from her took forever (at one point, literally a month) if I even got one. After not hearing back from her after a month, I was getting nervous and asked if we should cancel the transaction. The very next day she replied and apologized for not responding to me earlier, saying she never saw emails, and told me I would have my dress by December 15, 2010. December 30 rolls around, no dress. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt because of the holidays. I emailed her and asked her if she had sent it or if it was still in the production stages. I never once rushed her and told her if she needed more time that that was okay, just to let me know. I waited a week with no response and emailed again asking. Another week, no response. Finally, around January 20, 2011, I told her I wanted my money back for the dress. She wrote me back that same day and told me she would send it out on Monday with a tracking number.She never sent a tracking number. I told her I would take legal action and she refunded my money immediately. Unfortunately, I was stuck without a dress and I literally planned my wedding around that dress. A friend of mine who also ordered from her and was getting jerked around by her actually received her dress (one week before the wedding and over a month past the promised date) so I contacted Sarah and attempted a truce.I resent the money and received my dress a week later. However, I waited on a simple additional belt for the dress for four months. Four months to make one belt... Again, no communication unless I harassed her on Facebook...I don't think that Sarah is trying to rip anyone off and she does make beautiful dresses (I love the frayed, unfinished edges and they are truly one of a kind), but her business approach is AWFUL. I would honestly never recommend her to anyone unless they were buying off the rack. She doesn't seem to understand that nine times out of ten, a simple, TIMELY response to your customers will smooth over any bad situation.

I had wanted a dress from Sarah Seven for my wedding and I admittedly made a bad decision ordering a dress that I could try on and I thought it would be great. Sadly when I received the dress I didn't like it and it just wasn't what I wanted.I contacted Sarah about 3 weeks before my wedding asking if I could buy an in stock gown and if it could come quicker. She was so wonderful helping out with everything, the dress I bought came earlier than I thought it would and it was so wonderful! I am so thankful that I reached out to her and that it all worked out in the end. The dress is so beautiful and it was so gorgeous at the wedding! Thank you thank you thank you!

When I was planning my wedding I new exactly what I wanted to wear. I had to fly in to the Sarah Seven store, as I was not from Portland. It was so worth it!!! The store is beautiful and the women who work there are very nice. Once I started trying on dresses it was a bit harder to choose which one I wanted as they were all really beautiful, I decided on the practically perfect.I had read some mixed reviews online so I asked the women who were working if they were true or what the deal was. They told me that as long as you order the dress 6 months ahead of your wedding nothing will be stressful. They said that a lot of girls wait until even the 4 month deadline is passed and that can be stressful as it takes about 2.5 months to receive a dress with a rush order. It made me feel really comfortable and I found that my emails were answered quickly around 3 days usually. It really was a pleasant experience and I would suggest it to any bride as long as she understands that it is a small company and the dresses are made by hand. I had a wonderful experience.

1. Often took weeks to respond to emails, even when the subject matter was time-sensitive (i.e., making an appointment to visit her showroom during a trip to Portland, attempting to retrieve packing number for wedding dress, etc).2. Dress was estimated to take 3-6 months to arrive. It took 7 months, and updates were either missing (no returned email) or incorrect (claiming that she'd shipped the dress and had it returned, saying she'd ship it "tomorrow" and it never arrived, no tracking number, excuses). I wouldn't have minded waiting but for the fact that Sarah would not communicate with me so I did not know if I had to buy another dress or not.3. Bad customer service in store -- though we had an appointment with Sarah, she sent us away because her previous clients were still looking. That's fine, but she kept us waiting for 1.5 hours with no apology. We wandered around Portland in the rain & tried to stay upbeat but it was definitely a bad omen because later there were so many problems getting the dress.I would definitely recommend you look elsewhere, unless you can purchase a SS off the rack from a boutique without dealing with her directly. Even so, I think it's disappointing that she runs her business this way and would not suggest anyone support these practices.

I bought my dress at Sarah Seven. They are so kind and the dress is so perfect! The pleats are so intricate and delicate and it is very couture. I highly recommend to get your dress here, I went to many other shops and this was the nicest by far!

Sarah made the most beautiful dress for me on short notice, I cant even thank her enough for it. It was such a wonderful experience and I really appreciate all the work that she put into it!!!

My dress was so perfect and beautiful! I am so happy that I ordered from Sarah she did a great job and I got RAVE reviews all night long. You really cant find items this beautiful at other shops. I wish I could wear the dress over and over and over!

I give 1 star for the fact that I am able to take my made-to-order poorly constructed dress (that did not fit) to a trusted tailor and have it reconstructed and drastically altered. I'd like to think my $515 will be salvaged somehow. Sarah has what looks to be beautiful dresses, but the follow through is far from what one would expect. I placed an order for a dress (A Peaceful Afternoon) in May for my upcoming wedding. Sarah and I agreed on a 3 month turn around. I received my dress over 4 months later after multiple ignored emails, countless excuses and a handful of bs promises. I only received my dress after contacting a woman from stylemepretty.com, a website that Sarah advertises with. She has zero respect for paying customers. I am foolish to have overlooked the negative feedback I had read on etsy.com before I ordered. I'm not surprised to see that she no longer sells on there.

I ordered my dress from Sarah and it was so wonderful! I was really worried to order online but Sarah really helped me and was very patient with all my questions. I highly recommend her to any bride looking for something romantic and rare.

I bought a Sarah Seven dress for my wedding and loved the soft romantic feel of her gowns, and was very happy with it on my wedding day. The only negative is that she is really hard to get a hold of, so if you decide to go with her make sure you have plenty of time for alterations and fittings, at least three months ahead I would recommend, because the stress of not having your dress till one week ahead of time is not something I would recommend for any future bride. With that said, her dress was amazing and fit to my body perfectly. The edges of her dresses are left raw, and so I did get a few strings hanging off it throughout the reception, but you can just tear it and keep on dancing!

I received my dress perfectly on time, one month and a half before my wedding, as I had asked Sarah. The dress is truly beautiful. The fininshings are not perfect but only when you look up close. It is not something that bothered me because the dress is unique and does looks very couture, just like on the photo.Sarah is very sweet. Communication was sometimes a little tough, but I wasn't too surprised as I had read all the feedback beforehand. I was confident I would have my dress on time, andI don't regret my purchase ! I recommend Sarah and would love to buy a dress from her again, and probably will.

I really loved the dress Sarah made for me, but it came back three inches too big several months after it was promised and a month after I paid or it. It was difficult to get in contact with her, and she promised to email pictures then tracking numbers then gave me promises on delivery dates that all fell through. She was always very patient and polite and even threw in a free belt for my trouble, but the 'overpromise, underdeliver' aspect was really frustrating. All in all, I am happy with my experience because the dress is lovely. It's exactly what I was expecting and I can't wait to walk down the aisle in it.

I ordered a dress and still haven't received it. She never replies back, and the last time she did she said it will be delivered within that week. It's been four weeks and I still haven't gotten my dress. I don't know what to do to get my money back. I don't think this is anyway to do business, especially if brides are waiting for the dress to wear on their wedding day and don't get it. I had to find another dress and I am still out $500. Very upset and disappointed.

I was so happy that I had an experience with Sarah Seven Bridal.The boutique was specious and carry all kinds of gorgeous pieces. And I loved atmosphere in it - very relaxing and stuff is very helpful.
