I always tell people that Soul Mates Photo has the ability to capture those quiet and small moments in a photo that are just beautiful! Melissa has a great vision and she is fantastic to work with! She makes you feel comfortable, she is good at giving direction and she is quick (especially with all the extended family portraits). We didn't ask her to come to Maui from Portland for no reason, she truly does a wonderful job! She also does after wedding photos and portraits unrelated to weddings.

Melissa with Soul Mates Photography is the best wedding photographer you can hope to find. Hands down. My fianc� and I were very committed to quality photography for our wedding, and thus took the task of choosing a photographer very carefully. From our first meeting she captured our hearts. She invited us to meet us at her home, and she was instantly warm, friendly and personable. With her down to earth demeanor and joyful laughter that permeated our interaction, we felt an instant connection. We really liked her, and we felt like she really liked US, which was extremely comforting. We knew that she would capture the exact mood we were hoping to achieve, and have fun along the way! When it came time to talk turkey, we were a bit unsure about how much money we were willing to spend on product, and unsure about which products we would even want. Melissa completely understood our concerns the entire time; she never pressured us to spend more and worked with us to find a package that fit our budget, which was very comforting knowing we didn't have a photographer who looked down on us for our budget. However, by the end of our 5 month working relationship, we ended up more than doubling our budget for photography! We fell in love with our pictures so much that we no longer wanted just a DVD of the images; we wanted a DVD, specific prints, a handmade album AND Christmas cards! That is how fantastic her work is. Melissa not only photographed our wedding but also included an engagement session at a location of our choosing. Both sets of pictures are simply stunning-- the images struck the perfect balance of playful, intimate, romantic, stylish and how in love we are. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the proofs come back! Some of the pictures are so well-crafted, we felt like we deserved to be in a professional art gallery rather than just a wedding album. They brought tears to my eyes. Regarding our interaction, Melissa was a blast to work with. We felt relaxed and excited when we were having our picture taken, and Melissa was never obtrusive. On the wedding day she managed to wrangle all of our relatives into family pictures with ease and grace, and helped to structure the timeline of the day so we had plenty of time for portraits but didn't miss our reception. It was so wonderful to put such a confident, knowledgeable professional in control of organizing our day. She truly listened to what we wanted and made sure we got exactly the locations and poses we were interested in. Perhaps the element that most impressed me about Melissa was her one-on-one interaction via email or the phone. After it was all over and done with, I realized that I truly felt like Melissa's only customer; that is how much attention and enthusiasm she gives you. Of course she has many other customers AND runs a fantastic, well-written, stylish blog at the same time. But Melissa consistently replied to any emails I wrote back practically instantly and I never had to remind her of the details of our wedding. She was responsive and always eager to answer a question, offer insight, work out a new idea, or even just suggest an alternate wedding vendor. She was never put out by the length or frequency of my emails, just happy to help in a very knowledgeable, professional manner. THAT made me truly feel important and attended to. After having a small handful of other wedding vendors that were less that stellar, I can truly say that I know quality customer service and care when I experience it. Melissa was absolutely the shining star of our wedding experience, and we have amazing pictures to boot! My husband and I were laughing on our honeymoon how we forgot our camera, and wished we could have just brought Melissa on our honeymoon to capture it all! That's how much we enjoyed working with her. Melissa with Soul Mates Photography is the best photographer you could hope for. We were 110% thrilled with her service, product, professionalism and interaction. We couldn't have chosen better for an engagement and wedding photographer, and are intent on returning to Melissa for future photography needs like new babies and such! My advice to you is this: hire Soul Mates Photography to capture your special day, and you will fall in love and never look back.

Soul Mates Photography was hands down one of the best parts of my wedding. Melissa Tomeoni is an unbelivably creative photograher who met every one of my needs, and I just cant get enough of her work.I originally booked her services for engagement photos and was blown away by the quality of her work. I suggested a few particular shots that I wanted and she hit everyone of of those, making it even better than I had expected. The value for your money is amazing, I received over 200 photos from a one hour shoot, and every one was exceptional.Melissa also photographed my wedding, and once again it was amazing. My biggest fear was having the typical posed wedding shots, and I didn't end of with a single one that met that profile. Her use of color, lighting, angle, it makes every photo so unique. I feel that she truly captured every moment, every emotion of my wedding. Beyond her great talents, she is very professional and willing to go out of her way to make her clients happy. She started photographing my wedding at noon and stayed until after eight, this was a full eight hours and there were no additional charges.With such great experiences I also chose to do Christmas photos with Melissa this winter. Once again, they turned out better than I could have dreamed. I have photos of me and my new husband all over my home, every one was taken by Soul Mates photography. Another great point is the Soul Mates website and blog. Theres a great selection of Melissa's past work to look through. Once she has completed a session with you she posts the photos up online. About a week after the session theres a "preview" posted on her blog, and about a week later the whole shebang is posted at a location you can access with a password. Its quick and easy to order the images online, and they are shipped to you so fast!I cant say enough good things about Melissa and how pleased I was with her work. If you're looking for something creative and affordable, Soul Mates is a great option. Melissa currently has a display up at Equilibrium on NW Flanders, but it wont be up much longer. Wedding planning isn't exactly the most exciting part of a guy's life, but it doesn't mean that we don't have opinions about some of the particulars. I wasn't too concerned about flower arrangements and seating patterns, but having the right photographer was something I wanted to get right.So when my fiancee found an ad on craigslist for a new photographer in town with an excellent price, I was (needless to say) a little skeptical. As it turns out, the ad was for Soul Mates Photo and we had just stumbled into a land where amazing photography and affordability actually live harmoniously. Ok, kidding aside the photography is just unbelievably good. Melissa's eye for perfect shots and style of editing are things that can't be taught. She's just good.The photographer is awesome.The photos are awesome.You'll be happy.Enough said.

Melissa does a great job of making the fairy tale come together, she is a story book photographer that adds in all the little details that you would want but don't even have to ask for. In the end the photos/album looks as though you are telling people the entire story of you picture perfect day! Great Job!

Melissa is incredibly easy to work with. She is friendly and fit in very well at our small family wedding, making all of the guests comfortable. We changed plans only a couple of weeks before the wedding, but she was extremely flexible and helpful, independently visiting a few potential locations for our photo shoot the week before the wedding so that she could give us her recommendations of the best spots. We really appreciated this extra attention and the pictures turned out great thanks to her preparations.
