The Troutdale House by the Sandy River

The Troutdale house is the perfect venue location for small to medium sized weddings on or not on a budget. I loved having our ceremony here because of the flexibility it offered. Being able to basically run things the way we wanted created a relaxed fun environment for everyone. The Kids and adults had fun in the game room down stairs. Audio and lighting were great. I loved how the sound goes through the whole house and lights can dim according to which part of the ceremony you are on. Pictures don't do the place justice. Its much nicer in person and very spacious. Laura, one of the owners was very helpful and easy to get in contact with. She is very personable and her and her husband make a great team. I would for sure say if you are having a wedding in Portland, The Troutdale House is your place.

Laura is fantastic. We had Kim helping us on our wedding day and she was just as fantastic!We looked at a few places that were gorgeous, but the people running the place weren't helpful or as nice. If it wasn't for Laura being so helpful and well-rounded we would have gotten a larger place but cutting our guest list was well worth it.The Troutdale House has a simple elegance and ambiance that went perfect for my day. I couldn't have asked for a better day or place. The kitchen was big enough for our caterer, and the big ovens helped them a ton.Thanks Laura, Kim, & Martin for being so fantastic and making our wedding day so easy! Our family and friends loved the place.

All the people that help run this venue are all so nice and helpful. It is such a beautiful venue inside and out. Small areas but great for a small to med size wedding.

We happened to drive by this place while we were hunting for a wedding venue about 2 years ago. We looked through the windows and called and set up an appointment for a tour with the owner Laura. I fell in love with the place. It is three stories, top story for ladies/bride dressing, bottom story for reception and party and basement for gentlemen's dressing, games and a bar for guests to rest while the seating is rearranged up top. What we really liked was the affordability and all of the amenities that came with the cost of the venue, tables and chairs and the set up and take down of them, table linens and centerpeices, a sound system and DVD and TV to play sideshows on, access to a full kitchen and no required catering contracts and a whole 10 hours at the venue all for one easy and relatively low price.The venue itself it beautiful. My family and friend were very impressed by it. It is also right next to a beautiful park which was really great to take photos in after our wedding. All in all, I would highly reccomend this venue to any bride looking for a low stress venue. Laura was great at communicating and working with us through the whole process. 5 stars for sure!

The Troutdale House was the first venue we looked at when searching for our wedding location and we knew immediately that this was the place that we were going to get married. Laura and Martin were so chill and responsive to our questions and needs and the price was FANTASTIC not to mention it was a full 10 hour rental. If you're looking for a beautiful venue in a great location for a great price with great people in charge, then look no further than the Troutdale House. I can't thank Laura and Martin enough for our experience. We loved this place!

WOW! It's been two and a half months and all my husband, my in-laws, and family can talk about is how great my wedding went! The amount of time you get at the troutdale house is incredible, it gave us a chance to relax and ENJOY our wedding. Laura was amazing, there for my every need, accomadating everything I asked for, even telling me how beautiful I looked :) The value you get there is remarkable compared to other venues, with the tables, lines, and flowers they supply to you save you mounds of money, which is wonderful for a tight budget. I love every moment of my wedding from getting ready in the HUUGGE bridal sweet, to getting amazing photos on the train tracks behind. I would recommend this place to everyone! No bride wants to plan an outdoor wedding and then have the ONLY day the whole month that it rains be your wedding day. All I can say to that is THANK GOD for the Troutdale House! From the moment I saw it, I knew it was the perfect venue. My husband and I were planning and paying for everything ourselves, and the Troutdale House was perfect. Then when I got to my rehearsal time and Kim was there... It made my day! I thought we would have to do the run through all by ourselves, but she made everything go smooth. Then there was waking up to the rain... The pouring rain.. Everything was moved inside, and no one missed a beat! Kim set everything up perfect and was SO helpful with everything! SHE WAS AND IS AMAZING! I never saw the few kids at the wedding because they were playing downstairs on the Fosse Ball, Air Hockey, or pool table (with parental supervision). I was lucky and smart enough to book Laura's husband Martin of Martini Photography for my photographer, so I also had them there helping and making sure everything went off without a hitch! I am actually happy we moved everything inside... Walking down the stairs and seeing my husband waiting for me... The best feeling ever. If you are a bride and want the perfect venue... THIS IS IT! As Mother of the Bride , I could not have had my daughter marry is a more beautiful place!! Her walking down the stairs was just the way I always pictured her on her wedding day! Its big and roomy! Didn't fell like there were 150 some people there!! Also a great place if you want outdoor wedding! Which is what my daughter wanted, but do to rain we move it in doors and was pertect!!

I am so happy that I chose The Troutdale House for my ceremony & reception venue. My ceremony was in Depot Park which is open to public but due to my having a wedding there that day, signs were posted to let the public know that the park was closed so that no one could interfere with the ceremony. We were nervous about a train running through during the ceremony but we lucked out, Friday night at 6:30 - no trains! Working with Laura and her husband Martin who provided my photography was an experience of a lifetime. They made my special day so much more special. The ceremony went perfectly as did my reception. The fact that we had use of the facility for 10 hours was one of the best things I could have gotten for my money, not to mention the fact that they provided silk flowers to add decor to the ceremony & reception which saved me tons of money and the flowers fit in perfectly with my colors. I am so thankful that I chose this venue for my wedding. There was plenty of room for everyone and I received many compliments on how cute everything was. I highly recommend using some of the services by the recommended vendors used, I used Cheers for bartending & Karen at Beauty Studio 102 for makeup. Both of them were amazing and did so much more for your money than you could expect! Thank you Martin & Laura for making my day one that I will never forget!! This venue offers so much in there services that it took our breaths away when we toured the space! Our day was perfect and this was the PERFECT place for our Gorge wedding!! don't worry about the dance floor, because it works out wonderfully...i promise. it is worth having your wedding here just to work with laura. also, great value for you buck.

I am so happy we decided to have our wedding here! Laura was so very helpful in answering any questions I had and as time was getting close, I had a lot! Her support staff was equally as awesome the day of the wedding with set up and direction! Not to mention, the place is beautiful and there are many options on where to have the ceremony so you can make it your own! If I had to do it all over again, I would chose the Troutdale House every time! Thank you so much for everything! We could not be happier!

We got married on Friday, July 15, 2011. I can not say enough great things about our experience. Laura is an amazing person to work with, and she is truly there for you and your wedding dream. We looked at other places, but knew instantly that we had to get married at the Troutdale House! I look forward to attending other weddings & vow remewal ceremonies in the future, as I know many of my guests are interested in having their ceremonies there. The Troutdale House was perfect for the amount of people that we had. Laura was so helpful and great that I didn't have to worry about anything when it came to wedding day. Knowing that weddings are so expensive, they offered so much when it came to decorating. They provided the centerpieces for the tables as well as floral designs around the venue. My wedding was on June 18th, 2011 and it was everything I could have dreamed of.The Troutdale House was very cozy and had a real intimate feel, even though I had over 125 people in attendance. I loved the twinkling lights on the pillars inside and the white gazebo on the patio, they really photographed well. The bridal room was perfect, my family and friends joined me there before the ceremony and after that's where we took some pictures of the bridal party (it was a little rainy outside).Laura and her staff were very friendly and felt as though they were a part of the party and not supervising managers (which was great; I wanted them to have a good time as well). They were helpful and organized and professional too.The Troutdale House was perfect for my budget yet classy in all the right ways. I had family who travelled from California and they were very impressed with the venue. I recommend this venue to anyone who dreams of having a big wedding but not as big of a budget. Having the option to bring in my own vendors was amazing and the list of suggested vendors was very helpful as well. We had our wedding at the Troutdale House on 3/19/11... It was the most amazing experience we could have asked for!!! Laura, the owner, was there with her photographer husband and so they still had another staff person on site. They were very helpful and very organized from our first meeting and tour to the second and THIRD time we came in. Laura was always quick to respond and to find a time for us to come in for specs, decorating, etc. The place was completely ready for us when we arrived for the rehearsal as well as the day of the wedding. Laura was so sweet and helpful and gave us great vendor ideas (most of which we used) as well as ways to use the space. Everything turned out perfect! The value for what you get in terms of all-in-one location and hours of rental is unmatched. My parents who graciously paid for the wedding were very impressed with the price and service and value. My husband and I could not have chosen a better venue! Go check it out today!!!

The Troutdale House is a perfect place for a wedding!! There was lots of room for all our guest, loved that we could bring our own food. It is a beautiful place for anyone of anysize budget!!!

Words cannot describe how amazing our experience was with The Troutdale House by the Sandy River! The setting is beautiful. The venue is full of extra little touches that make planning a wedding fun. Laura and Martin are such a perfect team and so easy to work with! The services they provide take the guess work out of planning. Any questions that popped up were answered immediately and personally by Laura and/or Martin. (Every time my husband and I called they answered the phone! That is virtually unheard of in this industry!) The price is remarkable! I could go on and on. Our wedding at The Troutdale House was above and beyond a perfect day thanks largely in part to Laura and Martin. I highly recommend booking The Troutdale House for your wedding or big event. You will not be sorry!
